Good news | Xuanda ball valve successfully passed API 641 low emission certification
Recently, XuanDa Industrial's ball valve successfully passed the American Petroleum Institute API 641 low-emission certification under the witness of a third-party authoritative organization, proving that this type of valve can be widely used in the petroleum and chemical industries to control volatile organic compounds, as well as other toxic and harmful special working conditions.

More than two years after the release of API 624, the American Petroleum Institute released API 641. Different from the previously released API 624, API 641 has some different requirements in terms of test scope, packing requirements, number of cycles, and test temperature and pressure (see Table 1).
| API 641 vs. API 624 | ||
| API 624 | API 641 | |
| Valve Type | Lifting stem valve with FE graphite packing | Quarter Turn Valves |
| filler | API 622 test required | Within the scope of API 622, it is necessary to pass the API 622 test in advance. No requirement is made outside the scope |
| Mechanical cycle | 310 times | 610 times |
| Test high temperature | 260℃ | Different requirements according to different valve groups |
| Test pressure | The pressure rating at 260°C (500°F) or 41.4 bar, whichever is smaller, and the pressure remains constant throughout the test. | It is divided into high temperature test pressure Pe and normal temperature test pressure Pe, and different requirements are required according to different valve groups. |
At the same time, API 641 and API 624 also have great differences in the coating criteria.
First, API 641 clearly stipulates the general coating principle prerequisite of "same design as the test valve" mentioned in API 624, including: the valve stem seal and the test valve are the same material, design, sealing stress, shape and structure; the type of movement, closing part type, closing part support type, offset type and valve stem support type are the same as the test valve; the tolerance grade and surface accuracy of all parts that affect the valve sealing performance must be the same as the test valve.

In summary, valves that meet API 641 certification standards will have more significant energy-saving and green environmental protection effects under actual operating conditions, and can better meet market needs, which is another advancement in the development of valve products.
As China's requirements for environmental protection become higher and higher, domestic petroleum companies and engineering companies have gradually increased their understanding of fugitive valves. As a domestic high-standard valve manufacturer, Xuanfa Industrial has also obtained API 624 and API 641 emission standards. Dispersion standard certification. In the future, Xuanda will continue to strengthen the low emission requirements of valves and contribute to engineering safety and environmental protection.
